Terms of Use

Onyx Box is an app you use on your own iPhone. You own what you make with it. You can stop using it, cancel a subscription, or delete everything at any time, and nothing you created is held anywhere we could reach.

Onyx Box grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under the terms Apple sets out in the Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Use it for anything lawful. Do not use it to store or distribute material you do not have the right to, and do not attempt to break, resell, or reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows you to do regardless of this agreement.

Your boxes, your files, and everything inside them belong to you. They live on your iPhone. We do not claim any ownership, license, or right to your content, and we have no way to access it. Nothing is uploaded to us.

Because your content is stored on your device, keeping it safe is up to you. If your iPhone is lost, wiped, or the app is deleted, anything stored only in the app goes with it. Use Drive Backup and keep a copy somewhere you control.

Onyx Box offers one-time purchases and an auto-renewing subscription. All payment is handled by Apple through the App Store; we never see or hold your payment details.

The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

You can manage or cancel at any time in Settings > your Apple Account > Subscriptions on your iPhone. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.

One-time purchases are exactly that: bought once, no renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple under their own policy, not by us.

The app is provided as it is. We work hard to make it correct and we test it, but we cannot promise it will be free of every fault or that it will suit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, Onyx Box is not liable for lost data or lost files.

That is not us shrugging. It is why the app is built the way it is: nothing is uploaded, nothing depends on a server staying online, and your files stay readable on your own device.

If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the update.

You can end this agreement whenever you like by deleting the app. Anything you have already bought is governed by Apple's terms.

Apple is not a party to this agreement and is not responsible for Onyx Box or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.
